Yeah, I find it very interesting how different dogs play with or kill wild little fury creatures.

I had a huge solid black german shepard that would carry cats and rabbits around by the scruff of their neck. Not trying to hurt them kinda treating them like they were puppies. But eventually they all ended up dead much to the dogs surprise.

Where my 8lb maltese pounces on them, takes a big bite and then flings them as far as she can. Pounces again and then goes for the killing neck shake. This is repeated several times until the rabbit makes it away or she runs out of energy or she just gets bored since its not 'playing' anymore.

Or our many beagles that catch rabbits, birds or pretty much anything and leave them at the front door as presents for us.

So I should probably do some work now, since there is already no way I can catch up by the end of this week, or next...

Or maybe I'll just talk to myself for a little while.

My old golden could carry a bunny around without injuring or scaring it to death!

My young golden has killed 3 squirrels, but mostly is interested in the chipmunks.

Oh I wish my dog could get the chipmunks

Or the squirrels.

But only Vickie could get the rabbits. She was awesomely fast!

With the mild winter the chipmunk population went from horrible to almost zombie chipmunk Apocalypse.

But the squirrels and chipmunks can climb out of reach or go under the fence. Rabbits only have 2 or 3 ways out of the yard and whenever the dog is going after one I can play blocker on 2 of them.
