Actually, they are so much better than adults! Kids want to get better and go back to playing. Adults malinger, and abuse themselves (and others), and lie for no apparent reason.

Kids lie because they are afraid, but no maliciously.

My Male shepherd can't stand it when I fall asleep in my chair. If I do he jumps into my lap for a nap.

My Avatar was my 90 pounder, but he is gone now. Over on Bladeforum, my Avatar is the 70 pounder. I actually had a third who died of osteosarcoma last year. She was my greyhound Vickie.

Bertie won't get in the chair. She likes the couch, where she stretch out while lying on you!

Good point, adults play head games, kids just don't know any better. Good on ya! Kids still scare me.

I wonder what percentage of members of this forum are dog people (and I don't mean SYKCO type dogs). It has got to be really high.

I would say a majority are. Most are outdoors oriented and that often includes the pups.

All I have is a cat. I can barely take care of myself and my wife loves the thing.

I am sure lots of folks here have dogs.

Right now I have one passed out at my feet, another on the couch and one laying in the hallway halfway between the kids room and my room where my wife is sleeping.

It really comes down to familiarity. A kid with fever comes into my ED and we are all like, another kid with fever, no big deal. In a general ED, that kid we thing of as routine is a major emergency. OTOH, an adult with chest pain comes into our ED, and its like OMG, what is that adult doing here, call the ambulance and get them to the adult hospital. That same adult in a general ED is like, ho hum, another adult with chest pain. Start the rule out MI protocol!
