wrx the 22lr conversions are so much fun. cheap shooting is all the rage. I'm a appleseed instructor and I always show up with a 22 if were not going to shoot past 250 yards.

That is cool. Appleseed is something that is on my list of things to do. The training prefers iron sights right?

I also have a scoped Savage MKII in 22LR. I really want to shoot that at 250 yds.

we are a come as you are group. Iron sights or scopes makes no real difference. the one big thing that irons teach you over scopes is to trust your natural point of aim. but if you turn your scope down to a lower power you can achieve the same effect.

How many hours do appleseed events typically run?

I have shot my 10-22 out to 250 yards many times. it takes some practice but is very doable

That would be perfect. I think my girlfriend would come with me if she gets to use the scoped Savage. Now that I have the conversion, I can use my AR.

The nearest event to me is 22 rimfire only it seems.

they are usually 8 hour days on saturday and 7 or so on sundays. you don't have to attend both days though. saturday only runs 40 bucks and is where almost all the instruction occurs. sunday is some more history and the qualification grind. lots of shooting.

my dvd racks were cheap. I was a poor specialist in the army lol. just the simple wire racks that held them less than 2 foot tall and under a couple pounds. no way it was hurting her. I understand exactly what your saying though.

Glad to hear they were flimsy, though I can certainly sympathize with the (lack of) pay issue!

wrx the 22 events are great imo. it saves you a ton of money as most events each person shoots around 400-500 rounds. that is why I mostly shoot my 22's either way. it's some great training and history.

I was stationed in ft polk LA at the time though. my biggest scare was her crawling on the floor and looking over and less than 2 foot away was a freaking scorpion! I was like holy crap wtf is happening her. I had the exterminator over that night spraying everywhere.

Ahhh. Fort Puke! One of the gems of the earth it was. Thank heaven I never got permanently stationed there.

A nice 22 bolt action rifle is a great trainer for a 308 out to 400 yards. With a table you can simulate wind drift and bullet drop at known ranges.

Way cheaper.
