you goin with diamond lazi don't know... I always get to the store and freeze up since I dont have enough experience to have a preference. I'm always tempted to buy the one that looks like a rounded hockey puck though. don't remember the details on it...

the pucks seem to be more for tools and axes I haven't been brave enuf to try freehand

have to find one with a removable platen so I have some flexible belt space to work with Let me know what you find. That is something I would be interested in if it doesn't cost a fortune. Harbor freight has a cheap one that you can remove the platen.  Lee valley sells good belts and leather strops. HF has a belt and disc sander that aint too expensive think that would be handy

the belt sander doesn't have a platen so no need to remove it ......bonus
