provide for the common defense,

promote the general welfare,

and secure the blessings

of liberty, to ourselves

and our posterity

do ordain and establish

this Constitution for

the United States of America.

Oh how I miss teaching American Government.

especially in an election year, the best years to get the students more engaged.

Every senior had to memorize the Preamble in order to pass my class.

And many thought they couldn't do it.
