I love the Bolo you pictured. I would also love a look at the blade your HS buddy made as well if you dont mind... rlacan71, I just came across this post. I can't access my photo account for some reason and am working on it but I will try and post up a pic of the other knife. Oh and He wasn't a HS buddy, he was about 12 years older than me. He just had a one man gun shop and I went there a lot to just loaf around.

Yesterday I received my 911.
It 'a good knife, light and powerful,
unfortunately does not have a good sharpening,
Also it is asymmetrical.
Nothing to do with the two 711 that I have,
that are perfectly sharp.

Pippo, I am going to assume that the knife not being sharp some how got through Quality control. Unfortunately this does happen and I know Dan is sorry your knife arrived in that condition.
Asymmetrical? Are you SURE? Not supposed to be. Perhaps once again, you got one that "Slipped through the cracks. If you are not happy shoot Renee an email and the Yard will help you all they can.
