So I have a Rodent 9 which looks awesome but I can't get over the wierd finger indents. So I'm trying to decide if I should sell it. The problem is it doesn't feel great so I don't want to take it out and scuff it up in case I hate it. But I also want to use it to see if the wierdness goes away. I have large hands and wear XL gloves. So maybe it just sits wierd in my hands and that will go away after I get used to it?

Well gang any thoughts?

Even if I decide I want to keep mine. I think I'm going to order a Sage and Black Canvas one from the Custom Shop. Just so I can be different.

I've had two and sold two. Just couldn't get used to the weird finger thingy either. In my personal view, I can't afford all of the great knives out there so I'm only going to find and keep the ones that fit me best.

My experience with the R9 was much the same as the OP. I have short fingers on a medium palm and the handle felt a little too big for my hands. I never got to actually use it before I passed it on. It's a brilliant design, it just may not work for everybody. I'm a huge fan of the Rodent series, especially the R4 which feels great to me. I think between the 911 and R9 everybody should be happy though.

Mine is a keeper. I've read multiple reports of people being "less than enthusiastic" about the handle design. I have medium/chubby hands and the handle design inspires confidence. That being said, I got a terrific deal on mine because its previous owner did not like the handles. To me, the Rodent 9 and 911 look like the same blade with different handles.
Either way, you get a huge piece of SR 101 steel to beat up for a lifetime. Try to hold the Rodent 9 before you buy as it may take a while to resell. The 911 has the res-c, which I dont recall people not liking the way it felt in thier hand. YMMV

Well, you missed my birthday by a few days, but I will not hold that against you if you mail it to me today!

Seriously, give it a go. If you use it for some light tasks you shouldn't mark it too much and should get a feeling for how it works for you. And then make a decision.
