Rasmus, If you are talking to me I rounded off the Butt shape and choil on the War Dog. I also rounded off the butt on the Scrapmax elmax but left the choil alone.

No actually, Hooker has rounded the choil on the 511. Check the pics in the top of the thread. I also found the choil too small, and the edge too close to my finger, so I rounded the choil a bit as well.

Makes sense, I Stole the rounded butt idea from him for my Wardog and Blade Scrapmax. AND I enlarged the choil on the Wardog as well. I have done this on a few of my knives.

Ah, OK, he rounded it on the black handled one. The only reason I enlarged the choil area on mine is that my fat finger was right up against the end of the edge on it.

You can wrap up the one you think is best and let him trade for what he likes the best. Give him the understanding that the gift isn't the what he is about to unwrap but is his selection. I voted regulator.,

Having served recently I'd go with the Rmd. stout enough without being too much. Can be tucked away in a pocket or strapped to a vest. I see no need for a double guard unless he is travelling back in time to a duel. Top it off with a light ceapo multitool that can be used as a screwdriver.....

Knutelut, Welcome to the Yard. I hope you enjoy things around here as much as the rest of us. Don't be shy, jump right in the middle with the rest of us. Just be sure to keep the rules in mind, specially the "Family Friendly one" and all will be right with the world! Welcome again. Now POST, you only have 999 more to go to get in on the FDM with your JYD number on it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Welcome to the Yard, Knutelut. Where are you from? Just curious? Your forum name suggests Nordic or German descent...
