Well, I was thinking of a way to get some posting done, in a way that makes some sort of sense to me.
So I thought I would write down the diary from the trip to Thailand my girlfriend and I did this summer.

I won't add any pics now, but on a later occation I will make a post with pics on the Outdoors and Fieldcraft page.

First off a list of essentials to pack:

We went back packing for little over 3 weeks, so we had to pack light and efficient

Two big backpacks
Two smaller backpacks
Hiking boots (got some great advice from Gun Dog for some Merrels for Sara)
Two knives
Flashlight
Sunglasses
Heavy pants for the jungle
A few T-shirts
Two pairs of shorts each
Sandals
Some underwear
Medical kit

That was pretty much it.

Oh and toothbrushes....

Day 1

Our plane was scheduled to depart from Copenhagen on July 1st.
We went to the airport, only to find out our flight was cancelled.

That caused Sara to burst into tears and I got annoyed.
I actuallt turned out to a blessing in disguise.

We were supposed to spend 19 hours in Kiev,Ukraine in order to catch our main flight to Thailand.
After some phonecalls and help from fellow travellers we got our flight re-scheduled for the next day, which only meant 3 hours in Kiev.

So we spend that night at home with sushi and wine.

Day 2

At 8.40 AM our plane finally departed from Copenhagen, and I spend the next couple of hours sleeping. I allways fall right asleep when I am on a plane. Usually before take-off.

The wait i Kiev was boring, but we were kept busy by the fact, that there was absolutely NO information about delays. Well, all information was in Ukranian.

Our flight ended up being 2 hours delayed.
But in the end we also departed Kiev for a 8 hour flight to Thailand.

I fell asleep just before take-off, much to the dissatisfaction of Sara, who can't sleep on a plane.

She did insist in the windowseat, eventhough she has to pee once every hour.
I did wake up occationally to play some backgammon with her.

We landed in Bangkok at 5 AM in the morning. Took a cab to the city centre where we had book a hotel room for 1 night. At 7 AM we left the room inorder to explore Bangkok.

Well, it was hot and humid, and we actually didn't like it one bit.
We enden up walking 10 miles round the city. We was some Buddahs and a HUGE eguana in a river. Didn't expect that in the middle of Bangkok.
