Day 12
Early that morning we were picked up in order to go to an elephant care camp.

We picked up a few other people, and then went to stock up on bananas.

My guess is, we brought some 500 bananas for the elephants

The whole point of the day was to come close to the elephants, learn their commands, and the learn to ride then alone.

This was really cool. We suited up in some loose clothes and headed for the animals.

The people there lived alongside the elephants and cared for them like pets.

We sat in the shade, and the owner of the camp taught us the different commands

Song Sung: lift leg(in order for mount the elephant)
Huh huh, whilé pushing the ears with your feet: walk
Hao: stop
Gue Gue, while pushing one ear: turn in the direction you were pushing
Cho Cho: back up

I was the first to get up on an elephant.
And the commands worked!

It wasn't like handling a Ferrari, but slowly and surely the big animal did what I told it to.

I sat behind its head and gave the controlls. No harnesses, sticks or anything. Just my feet and commands.

After we all had a practice run, it was time to head into the jungle on our elephants. Sara and I shared one.
