15 minutes later we were ready to go again...

These drills were also no problem for me, but Sara had some problems equalizing under the water, and experienced some earpain.

She did however manange to complete all the drills, and was able to achieve neutral bouyancy, which is an important skill.

An other drill, which I was a bit worried she wouldn't cope with well, was taking the mask off under water, putting it back on and clearing the mask of water. She did it in one try!

After en few hours, we were done in the pool, and ready for 3 hours of theory in the afternoon. Lucklily it was raining...

We were taught a bunch about dangers and procedures...
And were given some homework for the next day about divetables and divetimes.

It all has to do with nitrogen and residual nitrogen in the blood. And the wish NOT to end up in the decompression chamber.

Sara complained about some pain in her ear, and our instructor advised her to see a doctor, and we did so.

I remember those tables and dive time charts. and YES they ARE important.

Really important! But when you got the hang of it, is was pretty straight forward.

The doctor checked her out, and declared, that she was not fit for diving, and should abort the course <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

We informed our instructor and he was ofcours sad to hear that. I wouldn't continue the class without Sara. Real bummer!!!
