THe MIssissippi was 50 feet above flood stage at its height in 1993. I remember that flood. I have kin over in extreme NW TN north of Memphis. Floods and earth quakes. Ever heard of Reelfoot Lake?

The entire town of Vallmeyer, IL was destroyed. They took the insurance money, and rebuilt on a nearby hill. Good thinking.

THe Army Corp of Engineers dyke in Chesterfield ruptured in 1993. It has since been reinforced. However, that new strip mall sits in the location. Trust me, one day it will be submerged again. The Missouri is less tha 1/4 mile away in spots.

It would have been. It rained every second to third day from February until almost July all up a down the MIdwest.
