Man, I've got to get to posting. Got a message from Dan today, he said If I get to 50K by the end of the month I can have FREE Scrapyard knives for for the rest of my life! YUP, gave me the phone number directly to his office. I guess I dialed wrong when I did a test call, the folks were talking this funny language that I would swear was some kind of Chinese! Greaser, mine was made to fit me while I was stationed in Japan. It is a nice bike, and to have survived what I've put it through, believe me It's tough!

The first bicycle I bought over there was on base and was a Huffy. I literally had it worn out in 6 months. The Panasonic was ordered at a bicycle shop off base.

That's awesome yeah they are serious about there bikes over there.

My last MOTOR cycle was a Yamaha Verago(?) 550 V twin. Just didn't have enough Umph to cruise very much. Patty had an Uncle die on a bike so I wound up selling it. I miss riding, but that's ok, her piece of mind is much more important. I sure did like that scoot though.

This GT is a huge step up from my full suspension mongoose. Oh and about 1/2 the weight lol.

You would love the new 550s they will do 70 MPH all day long. But yes a happy wife is a happy life.

If I remember correctly the Panasonic weighs about 21 pounds. More with the rear rack and bag I had on it. It was my only transportation over there the last three years I was there. So it did a lot of hauling folks here would think is nuts.

Lol yeah I don't have any racks on mine I usually rock a small backpack but mine might be pushing 18 lbs my full susp. One was almost 40 lbs it was ok down mountains in Alaska but here in the flatland it killed you.

Seriously, 55 on it was about all it wanted to do. It was a 92 or 94 and I bought it in 95, had it for 2 years and sold it.
