I definately support her 1st amendment rights. I also believe that if you are going to be so stupid you get to pay the price. Apparently she is getting more than she bargained for. What she did is not criminal. By the responses from the general public its also not acceptable.

She made a choice, defended it and now she can enjoy the fruits of her right to be stupid.

I would never do anything like that, but I don't think being an insensitive idiot should be a crime. As you said, you get yours in other ways when people stop talking to you and you have to find a new job. Probably worse than a fine when it comes down to it.

But don't worry, having friends turn on her and losing her job over this will be worse than almost anything that could happen to her. So she will definitely get hers.

The beauty of this is it is far better than being illegal and charged criminally. This seems to be the modern version of being cast out of society. She won't be able to go into public without at least the fear of scrutiny. If she has the srcuples to be embarrased.

I am also glad to see the outrage from most people. It means they still stand behind the military. There are always going to be fringe people. But it would appear we keep them in check.

I think the run-of-the-mill idiots outweigh the fringe people.

There are simply so many people who don't understand why a military is necessary and who believe that as long as you are a good example, predators and rogue nations will see the error of their ways and follow suit.

Of course that approach has been shown to not work time and time again, but people keep believing it. Same as people keep thinking things like more legally owned guns mean more gun violence, when statistics show its the opposite (regardless of if there is a relationship between the two.)

I'm ok with hunting. Not a hunter myself, but I'm also not a vegetarian <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> I used to fish a fair bit (for food and relaxation.)

I only have a slight gripe with trophy hunting if the rest of the animal is not used. But to be fair, the way we farm animals is much worse than any kind of hunting and I would prefer to get my meat from wild game as opposed to factory farmed, genetically altered, steroid meat. Sadly you can't always afford to choose.

I guess like most people I compartmentalize certain animals as "food" and others as "companions", but needless cruelty to animals is just wrong imho.
