Sounds rough.
Glad he is with ya He has been the easiest adoption I have had so far. It's like he has always been a part of my family. We really connected the first time I met him. I have always believed that if you are open, the right dog will come to you. Certainly worked that way this time!

Thanks! His behavior is what is really impressive. My mom, who is 90, is visiting and is completely charmed by him.

I only had one failure after two years I had to have him put down
He would have killed someone
Great dane crossed with irish wolfhound
Even the local junkyards wouldn't take him

I know some that are the sweetest dogs but I've met two that tried to kill me I had one rescue I had to rehome. He was initially sweet, but after a couple of days became very aggressive. I could handle him with some effort, but my friends and my mother were at risk, so the shelter agreed to find him another place. I really tried for over 2 months with trainers and a canine psychologist (and a good one, at that), but the final verdict was that everyone who came in contact with him would have to be very firm with him and I could not guarantee that.
