I have the 311 and love it. I think the RS had a slimmer handle and will puncher better then 311. The 311 is a work horse.

Do you know if the 311 handle is the same size as the 511?

I'd say the R3 would work better as a necker since it's shorter overall and doesn't have res-c which may irritate skin.

311 is a really handy size and works great for pocket carry especially, wearing on the belt or neck though is still pretty comfy.

The R3 handle looks great and may be slightly more weighted towards the pommel than the 311. It also looks to have a smaller choil than 311 which I prefer.

I'd say for the money the 311 is a much better value, but it all depends what the intended use and carry style would be.

I'd say R3 will be more concealable, slightly shorter and flatter than 311.
And easier to mod, if you're so inclined.

The 311/511 handle is basically a scaled down version of the handles on 711/911/1311.

The 311 handle fits my hand great, but I have medium sized palms with short fingers so that may not translate if your hands are larger. I know a lot of people don't care for these handles, probably because they've got big hands.

To take it further, the handle is perfect for 311, but I find it awkward on the 511, and there are others who agree.

I couldn't agree more with this statement, I had a M/O 511 and it defintely didn't feel as right on that model.

I really wish the 511 was about an inch longer with a War Dog handle, that would be perfect.
