Just checked the weather report. Might get an inch but they are predicting more rain than snow. Looks like snow for the weekend.

I think what helped us (road condition wise) is that only got down to 31 degrees and the highway folks have been preparing for this for the last two days, laying down a saltwater mixture and running snow plows all night.

I heard on the news last winter that in the areas where they grow a lot of sugar beets that a beet juice mixture (probably with at least some salt) helps keep the ice down off the roadways as well.

Sugar beet snow cones. Sounds tasty.

YUP, same reason you should never drink from the stream. YOU don't know WHAT has been/is in the water upstream.

Tom was on for a while earlier and he said that they missed the snow. Glad He and the General didn't have to suffer through the storm.

Now for those folks back east, get ready, it's a pretty severe storm.

Doesn't look like it's going to hit us according to the forcast and you know the weathermen are always right.
