Last summer I bought new reel and tried a few times with no luck. My son did catch a pike!

I've been watching the old guys but maybe I'm not old enough. I can fish a spot for hours and they come out and catch the fish I was dreaming about. but nothing beats the sun coming up on the water. and then I just go buy a breakfast plate on the way home
not catching anything just means you have to keep trying. and your son can catch more fish but pops will always catch the biggest fish .

Fish slowly, and try surface, mid-depth, and bottom lures/worms; find out what the fish prefer!
