Won't have to worry about it happening to me. Patty wanted to get me a kindle or a nook for Christmas. I told her it would be neat but I would tire of it after a month or two. Well Derek and his wife got us a kindle fire. YUP, I've read one book on it and the other day the battery had gone dead on it. I had also expressed my thoughts about one in front of him. Oh well it still was a really nice thing for them to do.

The concept I like about it is you can oft times (from what I've seen) get 20-30 dollar or more books for 10 bucks a lot of times.

And I think I would have liked the nook better because it it tied to Barnes & Noble. That way if you had a problem with it there was an actual store you could take it to for any work that may be required.

You got the wrong device, SkunkHunter <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
The Kindle Fire is like reading on a computer screen, not very comfortable and a crappy battery life.
What you want is the Nook Simple Touch. Its under $100, and its much closer to reading an actual paper book, its light and the screen is very different from a computer screen. It looks like laminated newspaper.
I charged mine a couple of books/months ago, and I can still read on it since it only really uses power when flipping the page.

Also, the Nook Simple Touch supports open book formats, like epub, which you can readily find out of copyright books in for free. http://www.gutenberg.org/

I always liked reading, but the Nook has inspired me to read more books in the last 2 years than the preceding 2 decades.

Enjoy every sandwich.
