Psyop, yeah I knew that, but we MIGHT NOT have the time.

Success though, it WAS registered at the Courthouse and we are going to get a copy of it now and take it to the Veterans Cemetery. That is all WE can do.

We need a subforum where political talk and off topic chat is ok, that can only be seen, read, and posted in by logged in members with more than a certain amount of posts.

I think most forum software is capable of this kind of thing.

It is very hard to bite my tongue in this current political climate, especially around the forum with the most people I trust and like.

Most of us have to bite our tongues, but remember that this is a KNIFE forum! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I know, but the current political trends will soon enough devolve into knife bans.

What good is a knife forum when our knives are made illegal?

Just to clarify, I really do understand why a manufacturer's forum doesn't want a publicly available section with political content in it. And I can definitely understand that we don't need party politics, even in a closed off section of the forum.

But you don't need a crystal ball to see where things are going, just ask any of our European or Australian members what their limits in knife ownership and use are and how they came about.

It would be in our own (and the manufacturer's) interest to have a way to bring relevant news to each other and discuss ways to legally combat infringements on our freedoms and way of life.

Unfortunately there is a certain mindset with some politicians that dictate you cannot be trusted with your own safety or the safety of others. Anything that could be easily considered a weapon will be banned, restricted, or controlled by people with this mindset.

Some European countries are taking this to its ultimate conclusion.

I read the Danish "weapons" law recently, and it mentions slingshots and air rifles, along with restrictions and outright ownership bans on folding knives that can be opened up with one hand and locked open. It also restricts the length of knives you can own without the proper license, with the exception of kitchen knives. Most of this has no basis in actual criminal offenses. I doubt very much that Denmark has a "slingshot murder rate" above 0. Likewise I don't think they have any pocket knife crime to speak of, most stabbings happen with screw drives and kitchen knives (both which are not mentioned in the law.)

Make no mistake, this has been an ongoing and iterative process, starting with outlawing, restrictions, or heavy registration on all firearms.

Every time a new law passed, the citizenry had a time limit where they had to go to the local police station and turn their stuff in. No compensation offered other than a get out of jail card.

Denmark has provisions in its constitution for the sanctity of home and property and freedom from search and seizures, etc., this has not held them back.
