Dad was a tournament bass fisherman back in the day, he taught me a lot about fishing and lure colors and water conditions.

I'm still learning but I just do whatever i see the old guys do. couple these guys have moved to new homes just to fish for crappie everyday. sometime it seems like the fish don't come until one of these guys shows up. if they give advice I take it...

I've watched fish hitting my jig before at 25 feet. I used to carry a mask and fins with me in the boat, and if the fishing was slow I'd dive. It's amazing how clear you could see someone in the boat from 20 ft down.

Good thing to do. We used to put out Christmas trees every year and would keep it quiet where they went. Always made good crappie fishing in the spring.

Sad thing is, I've got a bass boat in the garage that hasn't been in the water in 7-8 years. It's dad's, but he doesn't fish anymore.

i know a boat is supposed to be a gold bit of work but you just passed up on 8 years work of therapy!

it was a pretty cold day and most people would be miserable. but was hard to leave and can't wait to get back out.

but you already know it's worth the hassle.

Some of my best days on the water were in the winter. I love smallmouth fishing, and that's prime time to catch them. Walleyes are good too, but it's a little early for them. Won't be long though.

Crappies are usually biting when the pine pollen is on top of the water. That's about another month or so.

You ever see Last of the Mohicans? That lake was our Lake James. The fort was on the hill overlooking the Linville Boat Landing parking area.

It's some of the cleanest water I've ever seen, and I've fished from Virgina to Alabama.

they crappie are still slow but we had pollen on cars last week. we just got a cold snap. the crappie are wanting to come in but the weather has been all over the place. a week or so ago it was in the mid 70's and we had a crazy hail storm that did a lot of damage. softball sized hail tore up a couple car lots...
