I need to get a sheath made for mine. So far I have only used it in the house.

I just processed three deer with my elmax and CG Scrap Muk (cutting meat off the bone, trimming, and packaging). The elmax doesn't hold an edge like I'd hoped it would but it's a nice blade for the task--thin and light.

I'd used it in the kitchen for some food prep--cutting vegetables and gutting a fish--and the front end dulled out pretty quick. I stropped it back to sharp before processing the deer, hoping it was just dull when I got it and I didn't notice, but after the deer processing the whole thing had dulled noticeably. The muk, on the other hand, was nice and sharp at the end. Probably has something to do with the elmax being so thin to begin with. Not as magic as I'd hoped but still a competent knife.

I'd love to see this on a slightly thicker Muk though! THAT would be a nice blade <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the feedback DT.

I have a few more months before I can test mine on the deers...but I remain hopeful. Will report back.
