Depends on the blade, but I love it on my RMD.

The Ratmandu does feel right, great balance, but that's not to say I might like it even more without the choil. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I like them on knives up to about 7 inches. Lots of people say they like them on big knives "for fine work". If you're a real knife nut you should have a smaller knife in your pocket for fine work. I always have a Spyderco or Emerson clipped in the right front pocket so it's always handy. To each his own.

I agree with you man. I always carry my emerson too. Trying to do "fine work" with a big knife seems a little sketchy. But I don't mind it on smaller blades. I do like choking up quite a bit on a smaller one. I really like the Spyderco Dragonfly. It's semi-choil is very comfy and useful. What's a bummer is that I lost it a few years ago. I loved that thing.

And I don't like losing sharpened blade length. Plus, to each his own, I haven't tried sharpening a knife with a choil, and I could see its benefits.

If I have on pants, I have an Emerson in my pocket. The Combat Karambit (ALWAYS with me) and also sometimes the CQC7 (spearpoint)
