The blade length on mine is about 4 1/4".

I should have added that the sabre grinds used on many of the Yard, Swamp and Busse blades are ideal for a hard use survival type blade, plaese don't think I'm putting down that type of grind.
The Kephart though is designed for finer carving etc. Dan made the Scrapivore full height from thinner stock because he knows that this is the best combination for a great dicer, slicer and carver.

Pit, another great idea!
However I'd go with a War Dog handle with slightly smaller finger guard.
And maybe longer/exposed tang for a battoning/chiselling?
And both full flat or convex would work for me.

Looking at the War dog handle I think that would work well, leave the finger guard as it is but bring the bottom of the blade edge and spine straight back level with the bottom and top of the guard...if that makes sense !

It does.
That would be something like a Basic 4 without choil and talon, and a bit closer to spear point...

Awesome knives. A little rustic for my taste.

Probably cuz even Kephart himself said that his knife is not much to look at. Nessmuk's on the other hand has that flair about it. And I agree, the Nessy is a hunter and a food knife. Not a general purpose knife like the straightforward Kephart. I'm on here every week or two waiting for a no nonsense, no choil, 1/8" thick slicer with mudders to be put on the site for sale. And while I'm wishing, matte finished infi please and thank you. One day I'll see one. Maybe in two weeks.
