Sooo....I got a decent buck and I didn't want to deal with the cost or expense of taxidermy. I figured, "how hard can a European mount be to make?" The answer--not hard, just a PITA. Involved skinning the skull, plucking out the eyes, boiling the skull, scraping it, boiling it more, scraping it more, and then peroxiding it. In the end, I think it came out alright <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Nicely done, sir. What's the inside spread on that 10...looks about 15-16 or so...or are my eyes failing me? Very good looking buck, I love the form of his horns...looks "dominant".

There is a certain type of beetle that the pros use for stripping bones completely.

Did you use some kind of resin to seal the bone? Is that even necessary?
