They have been sitting here in Sydney since 4 Nov. I am working through it with Customs now and they should be with me by early next week.

I think we just need to wait for the one marked JYD #1!

Probably Klink's is being pimped up and that's why he's still waiting!

My two arrived just before we were leaving for the airport! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Nothing else on the blade other than JYD#1, but I sure was happy to receive them before we headed south! I only had time for a fast look, but I really like what I saw. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> If anyone else is still waiting, I hope that you receive yours a.s.a.p. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />

ALRIGHT! Glad you got yours Tom. What, you didn't take one with you to fillet your fish? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

BP, how many did you buy?
It you only got one, I personally would think, it would be a [censored] shame to tinker with it.
I keep picking mine up, and just ogle at it...

And I think you would have to do do some pretty extensive work on it to make it look good after modding and stripping. Expect many and uneven grindmarks under the coating.

There is that, BUT you could always polish the spine like was done on the SS4. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> You wouldn't have to remove the coating or do any other mods to it, just start back on the blade a few inches and take it down toward the edge making a new point.

Was the polished spine on the SS4 done in the shop or was it customized by the owner?

As for the polished spine, I don't like it. Actually I turned down an offer to buy an SS4 for that reason. But that is just my opinion...

I think that the SS4s were all made that way.

You know you could always "Blue" it or just do a forced patina as well. I jammed a bark river Gunny in a spud and it came out really dark in places.

Good luck jamming the 1311 into a spud <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Just kidding...

Didn't know all the SS4's were made like that. Hmm, now I feel a little stupid for turning down that SS4 on that account... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

Well, win some lose some...

I like the SS4, but I agree the polished spine looks odd.
