I just accidentally bought one of these rifles(long story) and I'm wondering about what scope to get for it. Any suggestions? I have no real purpose other than it's a cool bolt action in .308 with a ten round mag. Zombies maybe? I'm looking at this one Scout Scope Thoughts?

You can get a rail to mount a normal scope! How much does one run and how much does it weigh? I'm looking for a varmet rifle. I love 1-4 power scopes

Poor eye relief. I like the one by four. Almost a red dot but still a scope

I currently have a Leu[old Pig Plex 1-4x that is regular and a red dot that turns itself on when grabbed and turns itself off at 5 min if it sits still---I love this scope. I also have a Redfield Varmint 4-12x on a hb Howa 1500 bolt action that is nice. The old Savage wears a Simmons AETEC 2.5-10x but they are no longer made IIRC. I would suggest looking at a 2-7x optic by Leupold, Redfield, or Nikon. The 2-7x offers the best for a scout. Have fun with the new rifle.

Wouldnt you have to have a pistol scope? Or do they make rifle scopes just for scout rifles?

called "long eye relief" or ler scopes. something like pistol scopes but from what I have read eye relief can vary a few inches when holding a pistol versus a scout rifle setup.
I have been looking at a lesser expensive scout option for my m1a scout. there's a guy on YouTube running a leatherwood ler scope on a m1a and from what I have read on the web it seems to be a good option if you aren't looking to spend a lot.
