Many of you know that the wife and I have had a lot of problems through the years, and well we tried fertility, wise men secrets, prayers, you name it. The wife has a brain tumor that is not cancerous but never had it removed do to it killing any chance of having a child of our own. Well a few months back at a check up the doc said that if he knew better he would say that my wife was pregnant. Now not going into too many details she was told that she was experiencing menopause at 33 yrs of age. OK, that is life.

The last time we were at the fertility guy was 2006. The last few months the wife was putting a little weight on but I never am one to point out something like that--the reason I am still married and together for 20 years this coming May. Anyway, my wife says she thinks she is pregnant because the test says so but the tumor has caused false readings before. Sunday I had practice and after practice my wife picked me up. She complained of stomach cramps. We headed to the ER. After talking to the doctor he decided to do a bedside ultra-sound and what I heard/saw made me start crying. Yes I said crying! I saw our first child, like I said we tried and had given up hope. The Lord is great. The doctor decided to take my wife to the maternity floor since she is a high risk pregnancy, funny thing is she is 7 months along. I was called daddy by the nurse and I loved the sound of that. The ultra-sound and heart beat, tests, everything shows that I am going to be a father of a boy. Right now he is on track, healthy, and looking good.

Monday we went to the specialist that helped with the fertility and he just laughed. We did too. Talk about short notice, 2 months if she goes full term. My wife has a couple visits a week from here on out, but it is worth it. Looks like I will be passing some fine steel down in the future.
