Come on Dan, 4 inches of blade, 1/8 inch thick elmax with the sculpted mudder grip! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />

It's supposed to be a really good steel. BUT if it would make you feel better, Dan or Jerry's secret mix would be fine with me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
I just said elmax cause it does well in the kitchen, which doesn't mean it will do good in wilds. Maybe Dan needs to make a couple sample blades in different steels and divvy them for a few dogs to try. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
Sort of a TTSD!

I must say that I've never really been a fan of the traditional Scandinavian grind. But as long as its a high grind, like in your drawing, then I'd be in. My steel preference would be SR77, for ease of sharpening. Just my $.02, which really isn't worth even that much since this isn't my thread.

I'm not the best at drawing but this is the sort of thing I was thinking if Dan went with the Mudder handle: Love it just like that, I would buy a few!!!

Wash your mouth out ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> Have you used a nice thin scandi, they make most other grinds look like butter knives when carving wood ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

It has the one advantage of being cheap to manufacture.
they do cut well, due to the thin stock.
