We are a sad lot for sure...........and the thing of it is we are going to have a hard time changing it. politicians are like roaches, they don't leave until they are forced to or killed out.

Men you can't trust, women you can't trust, beasts you can't trust, but Bussekin steel you can trust

i think our species is in a tough spot until human psychology changes across the boards. but that is out of our hands, we just have to do the best we can. hopefully their are enough people with this mindset to make a difference.

MAYBE this will give shock some common sense into them.

COLUMBINE STUDENT'S FATHER 12 YEARS LATER!!

Guess our national leaders didn't expect this. On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado, was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful.
They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness. The following is a portion of the transcript:

"Since the dawn of creation there has been both good &evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers.
"The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart.
"In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent
I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy -- it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best.

Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You've stripped away our heritage,
You've outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question "Why?"
You regulate restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!
(I made it bold, Skunk)

"Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact.
What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs -- politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws.
Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts.

"As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him.

To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA -- I give to you a sincere challenge.. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone!
My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!"
- Darrell Scott

That is truly moving Skunk and more to the point it is exactly right. We have become a society that ignores the real problem, a society that has taken the easy way out and blames anyone and anything for the problems we have created. Continuing down this path will only lead to the end of the greatest country on the planet. I think we all need to remember the most important words that at this point have been forgotten.

In God We Trust.

Anyone else see the Pres remarks on gun control this afternoon? Love how he characterized anyone opposed to "reasonable gun control measures" as irrational. Only irrational people who are crazy and paranoid would distrust the federal government for wanting to take greater measures to restrict firearms. He tried to frame this as anyone who owns firearms for protection, hunting, or sporting purposes as not having to worry about the federales coming in and taking their guns. The left wants to characterize anyone who discusses the 2nd Amendment in terms of limiting the federal government as crazies or fringe elements on the outside of respectable society. You have the rights to bear arms as allowed by the federal government for specific purposes, not as constitutionally guaranteed. I'm leery of his comments and his promises to not take away peoples guns. I tend to think there is an agenda being slowly but steadily pursued to gradually desensitize us to the point where we will welcome the government confiscating our arms. Not every politician, but a few. It's those few and the insidious encroachments they undertake that are so dangerous. It doesn't take much to sway the public away from the real issues. What is so inherently dangerous about tactical weapons vice a semiauto rifle with a wood stock and no rails? Why is a 10 round magazine ok but not 11? where's the real outrage about the system that is spawning the violence? If we just ban high cap mags and scary rifles then it will be ok. When that doesn't work, it will be semiauto handguns and rifles altogether. Then revolvers pump shotguns and lever actions.

Maybe there are better things we can be doing. I'm not opposed to background checks or training. But I don't think it wise to conflate those measures with the violence we've seen. Would those measures have changed anything in the recent shootings? This is the problem with dealing with gun issues after a tragic event (and is precisely why the anti-gun agenda chooses, like vultures, to politicize and capitalize on the sufferings of the victims). You can bring in all sorts of issues that have NOTHING to do with the tragedy but people will be more tolerant of having rights restricted because they want to be seen as being on the right side of doing SOMETHING. Even if the measures being discussed have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with how events transpired and wouldn't have changed a single thing that happened. That's the problem with the rhetoric coming out of the White House and out of so many politicians these days.

Sorry, I've just been pretty riled up all day.

I just got finished watching 4 videos on you tube by a guy named Jeremy Feit called the Sandy Hook hoax. I'm not saying it was fake or anything like that but he did bring out some weird things about what was aired.

the well intentioned people i hear supporting this nonsense seemingly act as if they can legislate death and pain away. that if we create enough laws and regulations, everyone will be safe and there will be no more suffering. its one of the only explanations i can concoct for such a skewed view point.

its akin to these cosmetics and surgeries that give a false promise of eternal youth. its obviously bs, yet so many people buy into it. their perception of how life and the world works is distorted because they cast judgement from a place of material privilege, where they remain comfortable and asleep.

it amazes me how far outside of reality so many people are functioning. and of course, the taskmasters don't operate on these bases, but they do count on them.

i listened to this particular discussion and i thought it did well to ask crucial questions without being drawn into premature conclusions. give it a listen if you are so inclined.
