Dogs, My stepson's Dad has had a severe heart attack (had the first one at 38 and he is now 58). Most of the family is saying he won't make it and Derek, the son is en-route back here from Houston. Pray that AT LEAST he makes it back here to see his Dad, and even more that his Dad makes it out of this ok.

Needless to say Patty is all tore up because she can't be there at least for her son but with Still not completely over the flu and pneumonia, she just can't risk giving it to anyone up there.

OK, just got a call that he is having seizures and was POSSIBLY without optimal blood flow (Oxygen) to his brain for as much as an hour. Don't really know what this means, but they say they are going to freeze his brain because it (the seizures) are causing his body and heart to work even harder. Will keep you posted as we here it.

Sorry to hear that Skunk. I'll be praying for all of you to make it through this.

Thank you Hobbes. It's really got Patty tore up, understandably so. Not so much over him (sorry that sounds bad, and it's NOT meant that way) but for her son.

I know what you mean Skunk. I wouldn't care anything about my ex but I do care about the effect it would have on my kids.

I hope Derek is able to see his father.

Thank You Adam. Some short background just so you will know Patty is not a Heartless B.... She was married to him for 23 years. She was beaten by him, not often, but often enough. The final straw is when a local police officer saw her arm/wrist and asked her how long she had been beaten.

Thankfully she survived (once she was knocked unconscious for over an hour, and kicked viciously). And as you all know she finally got up enough nerve to leave.

Derek (Patty's son) is on the phone with her right now, he is now leaving St Louis airport on the 2 hour drive south to the hospital.

Its difficult to find something to write after reading everything you had to say.

I can see why Patty wouldn't be too shaken by the situation apart from her feelings for her son. We all know now that she traded up quite a bit when she found you.

Regardless, I don't want to see people sick or hurt, so I hope your stepson gets to keep his dad or at least say good bye properly.

I hope he makes it in time.
