Derek has made it safely to the hospital from Houston and is now with his dad. That's huge Randy, I'm glad. Years ago i was working with a teen dying from AIDS and she was estranged from family- we were with her daily for the last months. In the last day or so family came in and a coworker much wiser than me was relieved and spoke some words of wisdom "They are the people and voices who will bring her home." <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Nothing like family and loved ones in times like this.

Hearing of someone dying alone, when they have family, I think is one of the saddest things to hear.

I mean if they CHOOSE to not come. If they are not there because of legitimate reasons, sometimes things just happen, unfortunately.

Thank you Rn and N2K.
Little bit ago we heard from Derek. His dad in on a ventilator. But his heartbeat is strong for what has happened. They said he has STRONG brain activity so they are very optimistic about any brain issues. Now it's back to concentrating on his heart.
