Best wishes for you and your family Randy, you’re in my thoughts.

Thanks Guys, but it was Patty's idea. All I did was help out.

I think this may work out. confirmed the Chicken is on order. One cake has just come out of the oven and the two apple pies are going in. The Potato salad is done, Patty is making Derek some bean salad.

Someone bought a couple cheese cakes from My Daddy's Cheesecakes. Another member of the church brought some pulled pork. The church itself is buying a ham for us and some other members are gonna make chicken and dumplings, corn, green beans and another lady is making a big salad and another is doing a pot of beans and bacon.

Some other friends are making a German chocolate cake and something called cake balls for the kids. Oh and another one is making a pecan pie and a big pot of Mac and Cheese. We've got the dinner rolls already so It looks like we will be all set.

It's nice when folks you didn't even ask for help come to you and tell you what they are going to provide and ask if there is anything that you need.

Bill You are SO right. Just like the Dogs here. It's nice to have a place, to have people you can talk to, agree with, disagree with, and still remain if not friends at least cordial to one another.

I don't think Dan had any idea what his little website was going to turn into, a meeting place for like minded people to talk knives and other matters of the world. Well done Dan, and thank you, thank you one and all.

Amen to all the above. The Brotherhood of the Yard is a rare refuge. Mutual respect and love are the keys to it all.

Thank You Vic and Mastiff.

Everything went off VERY well. We had about 50 people there and no one had to miss out on any food, there was plenty of everything for everyone.

And thank ALL you Dogs for YOUR support, kind words your well wishes and prayers. It is much appreciated by Derek, Patty and Myself. I have told them both of all the well wishes and prayers you have sent our way.

They had never experienced a funeral with Military honors. They were very impressed with the sense of tradition and honor that was portrayed and the sincerity of those preforming the farewell to a fallen brother, one who served.

In my Army days (5 years Army, 17 years Air Force), I performed in over 20 Military funerals. I was one of the guys that always faced the "audience". Trying to keep a stoic face while seeing mothers, wives, and the worst, kid’s tears was some of the toughest duty I ever had to pull. It was also the most rewarding.
Caring the casket, folding the flag, and showing the utmost respect for the fallen is perhaps the greatest honor that a military member can perform for another military member.
