If one wants a pretty knife, get a Buck Special with cocabola wood handle and brass hardware. Just don't expect the toughness a scrapper has. Scrappers are made for hard use, not to look at. I never noticed any gap, but I can verify thru personal use that the 911 is one tough, sharp, hard use knife.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

C'mon Guys, lobo has seen a pic where there appears to be or there is a gap that concerns him, that is fair enought as if you are going to lay down the $$s you have to be happy with what you are getting.
Lobo, can you link to the picture you are looking at as I can't place where it is you are talking about. I have looked at both my 911s and the 711 but am at a bit of a loss to figure out the spot. None of mine have any gaps that appear untoward but something may have slipped out of The Yard or it may be the specific picture. I am more than happy to take pics of any of my 11 series blades to help you out.

If it is the pic on the SYKCO website/orderpage I really can not see any gab, so I too would be very interrested it seeing the picture referred to.
I have a lot of res-c handled knives and on two of them there is a small bulge just where the spine connects with the Res-c. And on one there (one of my 311's I think) there is a slight gab in the same place. None of which has my concerned the slightest bit. Don't worry, the handle fits perfectly, and there will NEVER be any kind of play or looseness whatsoever.
If the knife is off the exchange, why not just a brand new one from the Yard it self?

I see a gap between the handle and blade in some of the Pics I am considering a 911 but the gap is making me lean towards the swamp rat 9. any thoughts or opinions? BTW: I have a Swamp Rat M9LE. Great knives. Same steel with full tang and micarta handles. You can't go wrong with a Swamp Rat. They are a little nicer than the Scrappers, but they don't work any better and they cost a little more. I actually have more Swamp Rats and Busses than Scrappers. There is plenty to choose from in the Busse Knife Group.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

The tangs are coated underneath the handles so I don't see it as an issue !

Guys I think he was referring to the stylized choil. It is more pronounced and of a unique shape that is not the "norm" in most knife designs. Personally I like it but others may not. I've found the large choil to be refreshing as I have large hands (size 14 ring finger XXL Glove size) and my fingers tend to be too large for the average sized choil. My only ding for my 911 is that I would like a handle about .5" longer so my fingers have a bit more space. Right now the standard grip just fits my hand with my fingers feeling a hair squished together. The resiprene handle is fit awesomely and the material feels really good in the hand and I love the slightly forward balance of the blade. I can already feel that this thing is going to cut way above its weight class. I'm figuring a bit of sandpaper and elbow grease and I should be able to buy myself a bit of extra room on the handle to give my fingers a little wiggle room. I love this knife. Now I just have to put a good edge on it. It has a decent utility edge on it, but I'm going to try to refine it a bit. Buying this knife is a decision I do not regret. I consider the 911 to be the Glock of knives. It is a stout well designed tool that you can bet your life on, and that wont break the bank. Thank you very much for providing this awesome value Mr. Busse.
Regards, Joe

His other option, the R9 also has a choil. It makes me think that he's talking about something different.
