I've had a few semi-weird foods like blood sausage, bitter melon, durian, tongue, heart, brain, gator, menudo, etc. Nothing particularly surprising in the taste. Having a mother from Thailand, I think I've tasted a lot of things that the average US person wouldn't have come across. I feel like I have a very broad palate.
I can tolerate almost anything except for one, Korean raw fermented crab (Gejang). I was with my girlfriend's family at their home in Korea and had to "enjoy" a whole crab of this special family favorite. The insides of the crab have turned into a homogeneous yellow goo that is both salty and pungent.

Mmmmmm....gejang sounds so......vile.
Durian....one of favorite fruits of all time. Make sure its ripe and soft and then partially freeze it. Mmmmmmm.
Haggas. Again, not my favorite.
Can't stand bitter melon. Tastes so....bitter...
Yak is like stringy, tough beef.
Camel and donkey are relatively unspectacular.
Shark is tastey.
Snails are ok.
Crawdads, mmmm.
Squirrel tastes like nutty rabbit.
Sashimi is one of my favorites. Never had fugu though. Brave man there Randy.
Squid and octopus are both delightful, although the whole baby octopi are not all that good.
Frogs are tastey. Had my first frog on a wilderness survival overnight and multiple times in China.
Turtle...kinda like frog.
Bear, courtesy of SF45 was amazingly tastey--like rich beef with dark undertones.
Duck tongues. Yeah, really not all that special.
Chicken butts. Do I need to explain?
Chicken feet. Actually tastey if you can mentally get past where those feet have been.
Tongue of all sorts. I love tongue.
Fish and crab eggs of all sorts. Like juicy little fish bombs.
Dove is good, as is pigeon (rats of the sky)
Squid jerky...mmmmm.......
Probably others.

As for balut, I took some of the Chinese nationals that worked at the Consulate to a restaurant in Nanjing that served 20 1-2 bite courses. As the servers were explaining what they were gonna bring next, they said the next one would be embryonic chickens inside their shells. I asked for a substitute and got quail eggs instead. I told the Chinese nationals that the next dish was gonna be embryonic chickens and they scoffed at me saying "You're Chinese isn't that good. You must have misheard them." When the next dish arrived, it was an egg with a straw sticking out of it. The Chinese nationals started sucking on it and almost vomited when they realized it was embryonic chicken. Meanwhile I just laughed as I enjoyed my hardboiled quail eggs.

Kids have been watching "Man Versus Wild." Ok, THAT man wins it for "I'll eat anything nasty." Watched him pick up a ball of elephant dung and squeeze the water from it directly into his mouth. Between that, drinking his own urine, the live giant beetle larvae, and the live spiders, it's now wonder I've been ill. Must be from watching him!

My sister-in-law is a Philipina and brings a couple hundred fozen lumpia's with her every time she visits. My boys invite all their friends over and have a lumpia fest night. It's amazing how fast they manage to eat them all up.

Somehow I think that vaguely violates agricultural restrictions.....
