You can find used department 870s for decent prices. They're heavy duty and much more durable than the Express models, and I've never had a problem with an Express. To buy one and install a side saddle and ghost rings wouldn't cost you much. Just shop around for one that still functions well and you'll have yourself a very reliable shotgun.

I will see what I can do. I haven't seen used LEO guns here but I haven't really been looking either. One problem with the express is at the end of the factory tube the stamp a indention into the tube and it effect reliability. So if I can find a non express model it would certainly be something I would strongly consider.

I was also winding about the 870 express vs 870p vs the plain 870. Any info on this?
I looked and my current 870 just has Remington 870 on the side. My dads say 870 express magnum.

i like the mossberg 500 series. i would avoid a psitol grip stock because of the safety though. i'm replacing my knoxx pg with a regular shoulder stock.
i also like the look and feel of the mossberg 590 and 930. ive been looking at the jerry miculek 930 and it looks like a good option for a semi auto. nit sure if/when I will get around to getting another shotgun but a 590 or 930 is likely what i'd get.

I would consider a 590a1 but the saftey on the rear if the tang isn't really my cup of tea. I have a Knox spec ops NRS on my sabot gun for deer hunting and I find I really like it So I want the shoulder stock with the grip on it.

So I did some research and its between the Benelli and the 870p.
It seems the express line of tactical guns doesn't have the same quality of parts I want.
