Hmmmmmm. Got a chance of getting a 5.11 rush 10 moad shoulder bag and or a Maxped KISS jumbo bag. What do you think?

I have a Maxpedition Jumbo Bag and it's very well made. Only problem was that I put so many things in it that it got unreasonably heavy to lug around. So I went with a smaller bag, which is still heavy but not as bad.

Yeah I thought about that as well. But I hopefully would only use it for lighter stuff, nothing really heavy cept for the water bottle.
I figured this would happen, but I wish I would have taken DT up on the smaller Maxped backpack while he was in Taiwan.

I've got the 511 Push Pack that I have some BOB/Emergency stuff. This would be for if we go for a small hike, water maybe some snacks or sandwiches of some kind.

I have a couple of waist pack belts for relatively short hikes, etc. They hold a couple of water bottles and pouches for small gear, food, etc. Something I have found handy is the thin plastic "painter's tarp"; only 1 mil. thick and 9'x12' in size. It could be used as a makeshift shelter if needed and is lightweight. A couple of "space blankets" and firemaking tools could really come in handy if you got stranded outdoors.

Not as big, but should be more resistant to tearing and is somewhat insulated.

I can't pull up the link, but I think it's always good to have some form of tarp, whether it's used for shelter, emergency travois, rain collector, or whatever.

Yeah I couldn't pull it up either so I changed it and it works now. You can of course find them cheaper.

I figure a couple of those could be lashed together if needed for a makeshift 10x7 OR 14x5 shelter.

Oh, plus the insulative properties could come in hand in cooler/cold part of the year.

I have a few of those, purchased from EmergencyEssentials.com. They are nice to have as well.
