My son is headed to Boy Scout Camp, so more fishing tackle for him. I hope he catches something. I'll visit later this week.

i guess abu garcia updates their line so i grabbed a couple of the older rods for $30 each. it's the 7' medium/heavy spinning rod. hoping this upgrade will give me some more casting distance.

The 7' rod has always been my favorite for a baitcaster.

finally got to test out the 7' spinning rods. almost getting me the distance I want from this setup but i need to test a few different rigs just so i know when i'm maxed out. these are the abu gacria vendetta rods that are being replaced with some newer models. i think all of their old stuff is on sale right now. these rods used to sell for $80 and i think they are a steal at $30. I tried the 7' baitcaster but it was way to stiff for me. i paired the spinning rods I got with my pfleuger echelon reels (sold as a $60 combo) that I got for $25. so I end up having $55 in a rig that would've cost $140 and a still have a couple decent rods for backups.

might have to consult some of the better anglers on here. my little crappie and bream look like apetizers compared to what some of the other dogs are snagging.

looks like i'm going to get some spare spools off an auction site. along with my 2 president reels i should be ready for any type freshwater fishing in my state. guess i need to put that to the test now smile.

Oh and I also found two 25 round boxes of 20 gauge shells.

That is cool
