I'm with you on this, not sure what would make me choose the 1111 over the 1311. I guess maybe as a pure survival tool as the edge geometry would be stronger. The trade off is that the thicker edge geometry is a hinderance for most other applications.

I think that we tend to forget that many of the "Survival Blades" of the Frontier days of this country were most of the time nothing more than Butcher knives. KITCHEN knives if you will.

Very true, and cheap made mass produced from England (I. Wilson) until Green River started up here in the States.

As to the 1111, I can see where someone would snag one especially if they missed out on a 1311. I had a B11, sold it and replaced it with the 1311. The 1311 is something to hold and use. In fact, my 911 has not even been out of the cardboard sheath to be used because the 1311 is the user.

Yep sold my B11 also. The 1311 is a great chopper. I do prefer my TT Regulator for an all arounder. Maybe if the 1111 had a Regulator handle and full flat grind I would be in bit this one doesn't interest me.

I'd rather the 1311 was available rather than the 1111, but I missed that opportunity...

Kinda is funny what people are selling the 1111 for vs the 1311.

People are weird. No way to figure out the markets. I've scored highly sought out blades for less than store prices just because of the timing of things. Then there are blades that sell for one price one months and then jump up 1-200 in price the following months. It's really weird.

Is the 1/4" 1111's price higher than the 1311? If so, I'd guess it's the thicker steel.

Oh Dan, why didn't you make the 1311 part of the regular line? You'd have taken over the market for knives in that size (short machetes).

If it is, it's only 'cause Dan dropped a special deal on the 1311 for the Yard. He does that sort of thing now and then.

The 13-11 is great example of "weight to performance" ratio.

Depending on the price and weight I may get one. Also for folks who missed out on the 13-11 the 11-11 will be a fantastic chopper.
