They are as bombproof a blade as I've ever seen. The only downside is they're a little thick for a GP blade, but I could happily carry one as long as I had a smaller pocket knife for stuff like peeling apples and gutting fish.

When I'm in the outdoors I always have a SAK no matter what else I'm carrying.

I carry a Trekker daily. Most of the time it's the only knife I have on me.

I could never get myself wrapped around the Regulator. I've had lots of 'em--Regulators, Deregulators, Test Team Regulators, Bull Dog Regulators, etc. The 6" one might work, and the Bulldog one was nice, but the regular Regulators made me feel too much like a pirate. Not a huge fan of the clip points. BUT, everyone is different as are their preferences. Would I trust my life to the Regulator? You bet. Would it be my go to blade? Probably not. But that's just me laugh

I agree with you that it usually comes down to a matter of personal preference. It is a good thing that Scrap Yard made and still makes so many different knives.

What is the difference between The Regulator, Deregulator and Test Team Regulator?

I really wanted a regulator, I liked the blade itself, but there was something about the handle I didn't care for.
