i just recieved my first scrapper 6 in the mail, i think this is my new favorite knife. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> ill definately have to get an LE and a back up scrapper 6. anyone know if the scrapper 6 is suppoed to come with the dog etching on the blade? mine didnt , which is fine, i want one with the etching and one with out. i was just wondering. thanks.

Nah the CC scrapper is Sterile...which is a shame IMO

I have the c.g. (standard black one) which is sterile like yours, the LE's are logo'd.

that what i thought, i was actually happy it came sterile, just wondering because if they had it with the logo i want one of those too. thanks for the quik reply.

I was wondering the same thing!! I just never remembered to make a post about it. I like it sterile too. BUT, if there was one with the logo, I would want it too.

Welcome to the Yard! The Scrapper 6's are sterile for military purposes. The LE does come with the logo.

Patti always good to have your input! But.. it is a VERY cool logo, shame not to have the option of it!

I think it is (unintentionally) misleading to customers to show the CG model with the logo when it is not available that way. I think the photo should reflect what is being purchased. If nothing else, there should be a mention somewhere on the page in bold print that it does not come with a logo. To some people it may not matter, but some customers may feel they are getting a “bait and switch” and I think it could cost Scrap Yard some repeat business from customers who feel the non-logo should have been disclosed to them before they ordered.

That is a good idea Andy Wayne. I thought that the knife came with the logo, and was surpised to get one with out the logo.

I am a little disappointed on the apparent lack of blade etching. I thought that I was buying the pictured item, not something else.

I DO like the sterile knife though!!

I also was a little disappointed not to have the logo on mine, Andy's idea of a clear disclaimer on the site saying 'no logo's on the black ones' is a good idea... Sterile is ok but the logo is the dogs...!

What would be better is the option to have the logo like at the Swamp.

Patti posted a little while ago saying the cg's were military so were sterile, the LE being seen as a civi version gets the logo... As Humvees, M16s, SIG 226s and Beretta M92f's have makers marks, personally I don't really see the problem..

Most of those things you mention are sold internationally, and also much less likely to be left behind or dropped during an operation. A knife from Wauseon OH would pretty much spell out who had been there if found by the enemy. A blank knife could be from anyone, even a local for all they know.

At least that is the explanation I have read. Many soldiers carry branded gear, but if an elite unit is ordering knives they would likely want them sterile.

Maybe the Bowie will have a logo, since it is much less likely to be carried by troops due to its size and weight.

RF, most special forces op's buy their own 'carry' as the issue stuff is invariably a bit naff... If a Busse was left behind anywhere the chundies (Tali/Insurgents etc) would go looking for Yanks because Brit' squadies can't afford them! A lot of the Tali etc are quite astute enough to surf to find out what stuff is...

I think individual units often order batches of knives, since they are not issued them. Just look at all the different Military overrun models.
