When my son first went to Scout camp, I thought that a cheap knife would be good for him because he was always losing stuff. So I bought him one for $7. When he became an Eagle Scout, he said that he wanted a better knife so I bought him a Kershaw Cryo. He still has the cheap knife. I was surprised. He wants to do some camping in the mountains this summer so I think I will give him one of my Becker or Scrap Yard knives.
