So we're in TN for my wife's family reunion and we decided to set up a shooting range. After locating a suitable location in the woods at the bottom of a ravine I started clearing brush with my 1311. That thing is a brush clearing machine! After clearing out all of the saplings, I started chopping a fallen log that was in the way. That's when the buzzing started. Within seconds I saw an angry swarm of yellow jackets that had taken up residence in the ground behind the log. It took a few moments for both sides to figure out what was happening, but by that time I was on the losing side of a short lived battle. "Bees!" I screamed but by that point they'd already discovered who was knocking on their door.I threw my knife at them in a vain effort to stop their onslaught and commenced running down the trail as fast as I could. I stopped to assess my danger only to feel a painful reminder that I wasn't quite clear of their range. A few stings later I regrouped with couple of brothers in law to wage chemical warfare against a biological foe and reclaim my blades. Bottom line, bees and knives don't mix. Sorry, but no pics. I was too busy fleeing for my life to take any. grin

You killed those bees, don't you know they are an endangered species?

Boy, it seems like you get into your fair share of "Mishaps" DT.

Guess being a Squirrel has it's inherent dangers.

NAH, now if he had a Scizzy, THAT would have allowed him to "Clip" the wings off all those pesky bugs and all would have been well for the Squirrel. grin

That's a good one! grin If so, you'd have to cut their head off to stop them, or so the zombie legend goes. sick

Yellow-jackets, on the other hand, are nasty buggers and can inflict multiple stings.
