Thinking back on this, I really liked the blade shape (profile, belly depth and length) of the Yard Keeper CG. If memory serves, it could be a little thinner for our purposes here though.

If Dan could start with the YKCG blade, thin it out a little, and add an ergonomic skelly grip (base option, plastic dipped added cost and RES-C handle as top of the line) - I think we'd be there.

Ever try plastic dip over cord wrap?

I got myself a Yardkeeper CG, by your recommendation, about a year and a half ago, and it is one of my favorite blades. So I am certain a bladeprofile similar to that would work perfectly.

I was thinking at one point in the thread of mentioning the Howling Rat Gen 1 or 2...great all around blade, great grind and it's a small knife. Wish I hadn't sold mine! I know Ian at the Swamp has cleaned many a critter with it...

There aren't a lot of knives I "miss", but my tan / sage YKCG is one the short list.

The Blade version of Vex is very close to what OP is asking for. The original Vex is light enough for neck carry and really slim for a knife with handle.

elof,

Can you post a picture of the Blade version?

Here is a link to the tread I made of my Bladeshow scores.

Among those, the new Vex. Blue and Black G-10 handles.
Bottom picture.

And actually also my stripped Yardkeeper in the very first pic.

For me, I would like the drop point of the original vex (sweet!) and the thicker handle of the newer model...

Great pic SP!
