Of course I think that. It's driving me nuts.

Regarding hip-hop and singing:

I'm currently using various resources to teach myself opera (drawing mostly from the Bel Canto/Swedish-Italian school with huge influences from Richard Miller and the International school of singing). David Jones recommended I check out works of Jorma Hynninen and John Charles Thomas to hear what is possible with my voice type (baritone) when properly trained. Dang! Now I'm mangling songs in four languages instead of just English and it's great fun.

It takes a lot away from my enjoyment of substandard singing because human voices are capable of much more than what is heard in pop music. This doesn't take away from my enjoyment of the rapping in hip-hop because it isn't singing. And there are those disco beats and funk rhythms....

So in conclusion, I'm a huge fan of the Flagstad/Bjoerling School of singing and ScrapYard Knife Company's new bowie rules!

Boo-yah to ya!

Thanks for the kind words, but I owe any freedom I have to good folks like my grandfather, Gravelface, and all others who've served.

Good for you!!

I would like to have an idea of how much this Bowie is going to cost. I HOPE they pick MY name for the new Bowie

I kind of prefer Linkin Park, Kaiser Chiefs and Metallica myself...

I listen to Linkin Park on the radio...I have almost all of Metallica's cds. I listen to pretty much everything: rock, rap, classical, country, oldies, reggae, whatever. Mostly I play rock or rap though. Have you heard the Metallica S&M (symphony & metallica) album? I thought it was cool because it combined two types of music that I like that most people wouldn't combine...classical & rock music. I have another track that's a weird combo. A group singing Snoop Dogg's Gin & Juice sang country style to country music.
