Well, it looks like zombies are taking over but not literally...... wink

The zombie fad is no doubt in full effect right now, and I couldn't resist finally jumping on that bandwagon.

I must say though, it's not really THAT repulsive in person....... smile

Anyways, thought I'd share a pic...... smile

The old forum format had an emoticon of a puking head.

We need to bring it back.

I would love a couple of high vis blades.
I use blaze orange tape and lanyards on a bunch of hunting equipment.

That 311 is bright! I don't understand the correlation between zombies and that hue of green. Anyone care to enlighten me? It seems like it is a requirement for anything with the word "zombie" on it. I would think brick red would be more appropriate, given the intended use in that particular hypothetical. wink

My understanding is that zombie's supposedly cannot see that shade of green, therefore it is invisible to them. Sounds like pure speculation to me seeing as few of us have done testing on a zombie's optical perplexities..... wink

That I believe was due to them having eyes on the sides of their head if I am not mistaken, like common prey animals do. Deer, rabbits, etc. aren't really able to focus on anything, but they are out of this world good at detecting movement and can see nearly in 360 degree radius due to the placement of their eyes.

I think the zombie green colour came out as a result of some targets and graphic novels using that colour to represent the gore coming out of a zombie

I love zombie movies whether it is traditional like White Zombie or I walked with a zombie or the Romaroe "modern zombie" to the ragers like 28 days later
The only ones I don't like are the super powered ones, you know the type, they get super fast or run along ceilings ect.

I think the zombies in 28 Days Later are a nice balance between not being too languid while avoiding the superman zombie thing. They make for a real scary zombie, where just one zombie is a serious threat in itself.

Yeah, 28 days later was the first Zombie movie that legitimately scared me, for just that reason.

If you like Shaun of the dead, Hot Fuzz was done by the same group.

Thanks Bill. smile I actually saw Hot Fuzz before SotD. It was funny. Simon Pegg is a really funny actor. His Scotty in the new Star Trek movies is pretty great.

Do you read any Zombie themed comics or books? I like a few of the novels I've read, and I wanna check out TWD comics.

I read WWZ and the Zombie Survival Guide
I am not much into graphic novels, but I have read some of the TWD

Yeah, WWZ was a good read. I read one a while back called Apocalypse Z by a spanish author, translated to english. It was pretty standard, but fun nonetheless. Very well written. It got me started reading all of the pulp fiction available cheaply on my kindle. Some truly terrible stuff out there, but some gems every once in a while.

Nessie and Squatch? That sounds fun.

I understand all too well, my reading has dropped off dramatically since my son was born and school started. I was just curious.

i just watched day of the dead today it was ok but they had the zombies that could still run and where aware enough that they would have been formidable foes.

I am a sasquatch researcher
I do not believe that they exist now or at any time in recorded history, but I am fascinated by them
I am fortunate in that I am friends with some very respected researchers.

I wasn't a huge fan of that movie
A sort of comedy movie that people seem to love or hate is Warm bodies

Check out Juan of the Dead
Its the Cuban version of Shaun of the Dead. The govenment says the Zombies are actually from the US to promote capitalism. Its pretty funny and some really creative scenes

The fact that the zombies were much faster and vicious made 28 Days more intense. I realize they weren't actually zombies but same outcome.

i always thought that the green was sort of a glowing nuclear waste type green. like if you found the source that caused the zombism it would most likely be a gelatinous substance spilling out of a 100 or so 50 gallon oil cans and pulsating a glowing version of that color. you know... something you'd find behind a golden coral over by where they keep the meat! smile

Lazi,

I used to have the same thoughts about the nuclear waste, I could see a big nuclear event turning regular people into rotting, walking corpses.
