Well, back to the retired life!

Lucky dog!

Just took a trip down the cul de sac pushing my daughter in the stroller with my son on his battery powered Harley in tow. I love being a dad.

Only 13 years 3 weeks and 2 days, but who's counting? I go from being eh about my job to freaking hating it. Being who I work for and the way the promotion system is set up the people who sit in the front offices have almost never had to work a unit or in direct contact with inmates at all, so they have a tendency to implement some really stupid regulations that make it difficult if not dangerous to do my job. They usually get fixed later but it's a constant battle of us verses the inmates and the executive staff, some days I really feel like I wasted 14 years of my life in service of this country with what the government is doing and then I go to work and get the same thing there. I wish I could go back to construction or turning wrenches but then I know those 14 years would be a waste.

sorry for venting guys, at least I get to go kayaking Thursday.

LOL I cant its not forum friendly, But I can guarantee you if I had my life to start over this would be the last place I would chose to work. I get a lot of just quit then but most that say that aren't familiar with this area its where I work or construction pretty much, I did construction and a lot of the old timers told me to get out of it before it ruined my body.........so I joined the Army (lol WTF) proceeded to ruin my body and now couldn't go back to construction if I wanted to. The thing is I enjoy my fellow officers (well most of them) and I don't really mind the work its the [censored] hats that have never done the job that ruin it for me. I keep hoping for a turn around but it seems like the last 3 wardens have just gone down hill now the new one is starting to sound like she is worse. again sorry to vent but I didn't work my ace off to get to where I am so the government can threaten me with no pay whenever they feel like it for the next 10 years (sequestration isn't over)and have them treat me like I am one step below the inmates at the same time.
