How goes it this morning?

I'm tired! Other than that I reckon we'll survive.

How's the pup?

She got through the Teeth pulling/cleaning just fine and was doing good, we thought.

Patty just called about 0330 and said that Penny is crying/whining and has diarrhea with stool and blood with virtually every step she takes. HOPEFULLY this will quickly pass as this happens often when she has a really bad spell of upset stomach and usually only lasts a day.

But Penny hasn't eaten for about two days now, and maybe that combined with the stuff they gave her at the Vets are causing it, WE HOPE.

I hope so. I know she's like a child to Patty, so she's taking this really hard. But I'm praying for her.

Yeah She's taking it REAL hard. They've been constant companions for the past 15 years!

That makes it tough. She'll survive, but there'll be a lot of tears. I don't shed a lot of tears myself, but losing a pet will bring on the waterworks even for me.

I'm not sure what we're gonna do.

Just let her grieve for a while, then offer to get her another pup when she wants one. She'll say no at first, but eventually she'll want another companion for when you're at work.

Penny's not down and out yet (we hope) so we'll have to see. And about getting another one. I'm not sure she would really want one. She didn't want one in the first place but I convinced her that it would be best for her.

I always say that I don't want another one. But I always seem to end up with another one. (or two)

I don't like people very much. Call it a perk of the job. But my dogs can be counted on day in and day out to be there for me when I need them.
