How's Patty holding up?

I told her to feel free to call Susan or myself the other night, since you would be at work and we were just sitting at home.

She does ok for a bit then something will remind her. This may sound callous, but when her sister and her Dad died it didn't hit her this hard.

I told her it was different. THEY didn't depend on her for everything in order to live and Penny did. PLUS Penny was NEVER away from us for more than 10 or maybe 12 hours just a couple times in the whole 15 1/2 years we had her.

She told me you were being really kind and she appreciates it.

That's what friends do. Not a big deal.

But Patty doesn't expect people to treat HER that way. Most of the time she gets treated like S**t by people.

That's pretty bad. I just don't treat people like that, especially people I consider friends.

I know some people though just take that as a license to do whatever.

Folks are always taking advantage of her, wanting her to do this or do that for them, and USUALLY it costs HER money to do it!

But she won't let me say or do anything.

I won't be taken advantage of. Not any more.

I used to let people walk all over me, but those days are over.
