I have a rope puller which is supposed to decrease the cocking effort by half. If necessary, a crank device is available. Or, since my wife has expressed an interest in archery, I can take her along to do it for me.

The rope pullers work great. Don't try and pull it by hand as you can do some serious nerve damage to your fingers from the weight.

I hope the rope puller will work. The crank device is not cheap.

I have a rope puller as well, and I need to shorten it...or grow taller! The trials of a "vertically challenged" person.

Most of them are too long. There are some good vids on how to size it to fit your bow.

The one I have is adjusted by knotting the cord to the correct length.

Hey guys, Never shot a crossbow. Back in the dark ages around here only way you could use a crossbow on deer was during regular rifle season.

they just changed ours this year so you can use a crossbow. before it was rifle season or if you had a physical reason you couldn't use regular bow you could get permission to use a crossbow during bow season.

Crossbows were very popular in the Dark Ages, Randy. I can't believe you never shot one.

some people don't approve of the changes like crossbows for archery season and single shot rifles for primitive weapon season. if the deer population can stand up to it then i'm all for hunting how you can.
